Norton Presents Norton Internet Security and Norton AntiVirus 2012 Public Betas

The 2012 beta versions of the award winning Norton AntiVirus and Norton Internet Security were launched on 15th of April and can be downloaded for free from the Norton beta website. The developers have emphasized more on performance and protection for these recent releases. The applications included key security enhancements, which includes the capability to assess the safety and stability of an application before it is installed in the system.

It is to be mentioned that Norton is consistently producing the most effective core protection technologies without compromising the performance and the 2012 betas were no exception of that. The betas feature the latest exclusive reputation based security technology Insight 3.0 of Norton something that leverages the anonymous software adaptation patterns of a large group of contributing Symantec users in order to identify and block new malicious applications automatically.

These days, users can understand whether a downloaded software can cause any stability issue once installed in the machine with the help of the updated “Download Insight”. This application analyzes every downloaded file for security purposes before that file is allowed to run in the system. The upgraded SONAR 4.0 behavioral protection is also included in the betas.  SONAR 4.0 is designed to monitor the applications running inside a system for suspicious behavior in order to quickly identify and disable the threats which were previously unknown.

Norton Internet Security Beta also includes a revamped Norton Identity Safe, with upgraded log in and form detection technology, streamlined interface and capacity to save passwords in the cloud in order to make sure that they can be accessed from any machine that runs Norton 360 or Norton Internet Security. Another notable feature of the 2012 betas is that through postponing the non-critical activity to a later time, both of them allows the users to conserve bandwidth. This is something that consumers with limited data plans might find more useful.

To ensure a fast access to Norton Cyber Crime Index, the 2012 betas include an updated user interface. The Norton Cyber Crime Index allows the users to remain updated about cyber crime or security related developments.
