On May 26th 2011 a new malware client hit the market called Malware Protection. This malware client is a direct clone of Spyware Protection, Advanced Security Tool 2010, Security Central, Home Personal Antivirus, XP Deluxe Protector, Win PC Antivirus, Win PC Defender, XP Police Antivirus, IE-Security, WinDefender 2009 and Total Secure 2009.
Malware Protection is not stealing personal information like banking login’s and it does not seem that the makers of this malware are out to steal a person’s identity, just scam the user out of money which is a little less evil, but only a little.
Like most malware clients, Malware Protection blocks legitimate anti-virus clients from running and is known to show false scan results as well as bogus error messages.
